Seed Collecting Workdays in Chicago Wilderness, Fall 2004
Below are some workdays where volunteers can try their hands at the primal art of seed collecting. Conservationists will use the seeds to restore important native plants to nearby prairies, woodlands, and wetlands.
Since seed maturation and weather follow their own schedules, preserve stewards may need to alter workday activities.
In addition to the events listed here, many other workdays take place regularly across the region and may include seed picking. Our Events Calendar and many of our Into the Wild preserve profiles offer more such volunteer opportunities.
