Spring 2000

Looking for some Chicago Wilderness to explore this weekend? Scouting out spring wildflowers to photograph? Want to join a volunteer work party to help restore prairies or wetlands? Into the Wild is your guide to nature in the Chicago area. We introduce you to nature preserves and trails in northeastern Illinois, and in a bit of southeast Wisconsin and northwest Indiana. You'll find descriptions of plants, birds and animals found in each location, a trail map, and directions to the preserve. Peruse the six sites in our Spring 2000 issue, below, or choose from the dozens of sites we've profiled in back issues.
