The cranes, which stayed from November 29 through December 2, chose to spend their time in a year-old wetland re-creation, on former agricultural land. “Seeing these cranes in the wild, in our preserve, is like observing Halley’s Comet,” said Drew Ullberg, director of natural resources for the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. “It’s truly a once in a lifetime treat.” Current Issue | Back Issues | Into the Wild | Calendar | Links | Subscribe | Donate | Online Store | Contact Us | Advertising Copyright 2008 Chicago Wilderness Magazine, Inc. |
