PHOTO ESSAY (continued)

Appreciating Predators---- Peregrine falcon

The peregrine is now the city bird of Chicago. Originally nesting on cliffs and tall dead craggy trees, peregrines today often nest on tall buildings, including those in the Loop. They feed almost entirely on mid-sized birds, like the pigeon being devoured here. Photo by Art Morris/Birds as Art.
