Chicago Wilderness Magazine
Ends Its Run
Dear Supporters,
For more than a decade, Chicago Wilderness magazine served as a powerful voice for local nature and helped to galvanize a community of people such as you, who care for and take action to protect our region’s natural heritage. We are deeply grateful for the support and sense of community the magazine inspired.
Despite its achievements and the loyalty of its readers, it was an uphill battle to develop a sustainable business model for the magazine, given the economy and trends within the publication industry. So with regret, the decision was made to cease its publication.
We will be exploring ways to use new media and modes of communication that weren’t available when the magazine launched, and we hope to continue the legacy of Chicago Wilderness magazine in celebrating regional nature, whether that’s through the magazine’s Web site or other online tools. If you’d like to stay in touch with the work of the Chicago Wilderness alliance, please subscribe to our e-newsletter.
In the meantime, thank you again for your continued support of efforts to conserve the native biodiversity of our region.
Sincerely,
Melinda Pruett-Jones
Executive Director, Chicago Wilderness
